Nordic Metal LED Desk and Study Lamp

Study lighting has one job and a narrow tolerance for getting it wrong. Too broad and it lights the room instead of the page; too narrow and the contrast between the pool and the surroundings tires the eyes within an hour. This lamp is set up for the middle of that range, throwing a controlled pool at desk distance with a soft edge rather than a hard cut-off.

The metal frame is minimal to the point of being almost a diagram: a base, a stem and a head, with no housing built around any of it. That keeps the footprint small on a crowded desk and stops the lamp casting its own shadow across the work. Several sizes are offered, so the same design covers a small side desk and a full working surface.

The LED is integrated and long-life, running cool enough that the head can be adjusted without waiting for it, and there is no bulb to source when it eventually needs one. It suits home offices, studies, workbenches and bedside reading. Position the head so the light falls from the side opposite your writing hand to avoid working in your own shadow.
