3W and 6W Waterproof LED Outdoor Wall Light
Being offered two output levels is more useful than it first appears. Three watts is a marker light: enough to define a step, a door frame or a run of balcony rail without lighting the space. Six watts is a working light, sufficient to see a lock, a key and the ground beneath it. Choosing the right one for each position is what stops an exterior scheme looking either timid or floodlit.
The body is compact and decorative rather than utilitarian, with light leaving through shaped apertures so the fitting casts a pattern on the wall as well as illuminating it. That makes it a good choice where the lighting is part of the finish of the building, such as an entrance wall, a stairwell or a courtyard, rather than a purely functional side passage.
It is sealed against rain and dust for permanent exterior mounting, and the LED is integrated, which removes the lamp holder that usually corrodes first on an outdoor fitting. Keep the mounting height consistent across a run and space the fittings evenly. Exterior mains wiring should always be installed by a qualified electrician on a protected circuit, and a mixed run of 3W and 6W fittings should be planned before drilling rather than adjusted afterwards.
