Mushroom Pod Rechargeable LED Table Lamp

The mushroom shape has been in lighting design for sixty years because it solves a problem elegantly. A domed shade over a short stem hides the source completely and pushes all of the light downward and outward, which means the lamp can sit at eye level on a bedside table without a bright point ever being visible to someone lying next to it.

This version is rechargeable and touch controlled, so there is no flex trailing off the table and no switch to hunt for in the dark. Tapping the shade steps the brightness from a very low night level up to something usable, and the lamp keeps the setting it was left on. Lift it off the surface and it works as a portable light for another room.
