An outdoor rug does something a paved surface cannot: it draws a boundary. Laid under a table or a pair of chairs it turns a patch of decking or gravel into a defined room, and this one carries a different colourway on each face, so flipping it once a season changes the whole look of the space without buying anything new.

The weave is a flat polypropylene, chosen because it does not hold water. Rain runs through instead of pooling, the pile does not rot or go musty underneath, and the colour holds against sunlight far better than a natural fibre would over a long summer. Cleaning is a hose and a brush, then hang it over a rail to dry. It rolls tightly for storage over winter and is light enough to move single-handed when the furniture gets rearranged.
