Nordic Metal LED Wall Sconce

Metal is the right material for a wall sconce because it lets the fitting be thin. A pressed or spun metal body holds its shape at a fraction of the bulk a moulded shade would need, so the light sits close to the wall and reads as a line rather than a lump. That slimness is the whole reason a sconce works in a hallway where anything deeper gets caught by a shoulder.

The Nordic styling is a matter of what has been left out. There is no bracket detail, no visible fixing and no ornament, just a clean form in a matte finish that recedes against a painted wall in daylight. Lit, it throws a soft gradient across the surface rather than a hard circle, which is what stops a run of sconces looking like emergency lighting.

It works singly beside a bed, in pairs either side of a mirror or a headboard, or repeated at even spacing along a hallway or a stairwell where the overlapping washes build a continuous rhythm. The LED is integrated and long-life. Fix into solid structure or use fixings rated for plasterboard, and have the mains connection made by a qualified electrician.
